Broken Promises (Apology to Nathi)

Escalating thoughts through mind vision,
Blood Colliding with brain cells like circumcision;
A heart that lied without vision,
Has now come to seize without dreaming.

A couple of bad deeds that scattered fragile hearts throughout seasons,
Has now elevated broken pieces like clouds reproducing,
A glimpse of stars behind eyelids, she called haven,
Has now given light to shallow hearts that are fully driven.

I held a heart once cherished,
Created warmth and comfort for the outcomes of better days,
Only to neglect promises ought to be kept in my mother’s days;
I promised to rid unwanted thorns around the circumference of her heart,
But lust and polygamy uprooted my innocence on her corroded cheeks.

I forbid the day I brought tears to her eyes,
For every tear I took as a blessing in rainy days;
I’d watch nature take its course in the routes hidden down her cheeks,
Witness raindrops and the sight of sparrows flourish the seeds on her lips.

I heard heaven once trembled when I asked the birds for her hand in marriage,
Hell had a slight shift,
Troops gasped in flames;
We moved to the rhythm of the wind,
Sung to the sounds of the trees,
We danced our sorrows away and vowed to keep the magic in the jar,
Illusions were only evil to those who possessed fusion.

Deception by inextricably emotional bandage shackled to late exhilaration and hopeless confusion,
With the excursion of deluded fantasies of love living in my eyes forever,
I regret turning her infinite galaxies into mind calories.
I am sorry for using your name in vain,
I am sorry for finding solace in the broken pieces behind your chest,
I am sorry for cheating.
